(2012-11-15) L.E.O. Manticore variant LDD . . NOTES: This is an update of my Kyle Peckham and apocalust inspired Lego-Zoid creation "L.E.O.". Looking at the designs of both Kyle and Apocalust, I realised mine was lacking something (yes I know, WEAPONS!!!). The updated variant is shown in two colour schemes, my favourite gold on black scheme and the "Leo convoy" inspired red on white scheme. What is different? - I've altered the shoulder section to look like it blends into the "mane" better, I've also carried this over onto the top of the forelimbs. - added stylised wings. - added tip to the tail, I'll explain my thinking behind this later. - given the design a little display stand. - beefed up he number of 2x2 tiles which make up the main torso to give it a more solid profile. What is a Manticore? In legend a Manticore is a "Sphinx" like creature with the body of a lion, the head of a human, rows of teeth (like a shark). Occasionally they are depicted as having horns, wings and the tail of a dragon or scorpion. Because elements like the tail and wings are optional and vary between legends I often don't include the wings when designing Manticore robots, but this time I felt they fit. The tail (obviously) is meant to represent that of a scorpion, so I added a little something to suggest a sting, I may make some adjustments and upload more images later.
