Classic Space Contest Entry - BobaFett2 . Classic Space .
Rules, for those who don't know them: 30 to 100 parts, must use the color scheme of Classic Space, Futuron, Space Police I (and maybe II, it wasn't clear), M-Tron, or Ice Planet 2012.
I absolutely love the Classic Space Contest that David Roberts and David Alexander have set up.
I'm a huge fan of Classic Space and its offspring, and reslished the chance to make something in that style. First, I made a Space Police I thing. It was a flop. Then, I made a Futuron/White Classic Space exploration craft which looked decent, but when I saw Parrington's entry, I realized that I had to do more.
I did more. As usual, my photos do not do the vehicle justice, but its built for functionality above everything else. Both the front and back wheels rotate - the front wheels turn downwards, becoming something other than wheels, while the back wheels move back, becoming thrusters. The radar dish becomes a repulsorlift. The antennae (or lasers, your pick) become lasers/antennae. The wings can become walls. Because I had used around 60 parts, I decided to make a small vehicle to accompany it. The vehicle has a crane arm and magnet, as I had to include magnets. I love magnets, but rarely have a chance to use them.
The next model is a small communications base (built from the same parts) and an unmanned OR micro-scale ship. It has a magnet and can pick up loads.
The last one is a rover with a communications array. It's much thicker than the first.
I hope the judges find my creation to be worthy, and good luck to everyone else!
