MELO Round 3: LukeClarenceVan vs. Toa Infernum - Nazgūl Fell Beast . . Orthanc bracket of round three of the Middle Earth LEGO Olympics pits me against talented builder Toa Infernum in the category of "Wraiths on Wings" with the task of building a Nazgūl Fell Beast. I've always wanted to build a dragon, so this contest was a great excuse. The wings were inspired by Deus. (Rhyme not intended...) A shot of the whole thing. It really is tougher to photograph black MOCs. The wingspan is nearly two feet, and tail to head is about the same. I used a marionette type set-up to support the wings and body and to allow dynamic posing. The legs. I built the head first, using a couple of foot covers from technic Star Wars figures as jaws. Heroic Nazgūl shot, Fell Beast bursting through the clouds to liberate orcs everywhere. Thanks for stopping by!
