Eternal Fountains . . 2013 MocAthalon The eXtra Pieces 3. Alien Landscape. Is it barren? Are the rivers green, gold or pink? Do the trees grow upside down? Do the Aliens walk around like they are constantly doing the limbo? These are all ideas. Build us your version of an alien landscape. This one is all about beauty 'outside the box'. For two months now the HSEA (Human Space Exploration Alliance) have been studying a recently discovered mineral planet, named Alexandra VII, after the Starship that discovered it. It is, however, more often dubbed "The Spring" by those scientists in contact with it. Why? The whole planet is covered in liquid mineral pools and large deposits of valuable metals. But what is most astounding about this planet is the areas known as the Fountain Gardens. These gardens are areas of curiously shaped table-like rock formations with liquid minerals continuously streaming upward and apparently disappearing into the atmosphere. Nobody understands where the minerals go, or more importantly where they come from, but one suggestion is that the planet centre is feeding through these outlets and that the reaction they they with the atmosphere causes them to evaporate suddenly at a certain level above the surface, depending on the mineral itself. The HSEA plans to conduct more investigations and eventually exploit the rich resources this planet has to offer. ...And there's my first entry, with many more to come! The eXtra Pieces FTW!
