Sic Semper Arachis! . . For 2013 MocAthalon Team Jigsaw in Totally Historically Accurate. Lincoln survives the assassination as his seat filler, Mr. Peanut, mistakenly has his head blown off by Booth, eager to complete the deed. Thus splattering audience members and the stage with buckets of peanut butter and the remnants of poor Mr. Peanut. No actual peanuts were harmed in the making of this MOC. Here's a period reference image of the assassination at Ford's Theatre. Mary Todd and President Lincoln are seated and waiting for the performance. Lincoln takes off his hat and places it on the table. He realizes he needs to visit the restroom. *Special note: Presidential portrait of Washington adorning the balcony designed and provided by Jigsaw team mate, Nick V (Brickthing.) Thanks Nick! While trying to return to his seat, Lincoln is retained by an Usher who doesn't recognize him as the President. Booth, meanwhile is creeping up behind the seat filler, Mr. Peanut, without realizing he is not his intended target. Booth takes his shot! Audience members are either covered with peanut butter or horrified by the turn of events. There's hardly anything left of poor Mr. Peanut. After the theatre clears, the janitor begins cleaning up the sorry mess. Mr. Harry Burnett Reese experiences a new taste sensation during the event when peanut butter ends up on his chocolate. This gives him an idea! The cast of historical characters. And yes, Mary Todd Lincoln has a suitable, angular face. Google her portrait if you want to check. The star of the assassination - Mr. Peanut in all his unharmed glory!
