LEGOS 100TH STORE! a GRAND OPENING & A GRAND CELEBRATION! . For LEGO collectors and LEGO buyers a great thing happened the WEEKEND of JUNE 28, 29 AND 30TH! LEGO opened its 100th STORE! and the CELEBRATION was GRAND!!! On the 28th a T-shirt was given out, then on the 29th the coveted LEGO STORE MODEL was given out and finally on the 30th the customary 3 set minifigures to represent the store! The Manager Erik and his staff including Daniel had their hands full! To launch this newest store managers and co-managers were invited from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania to help out and join in the fun! On the ground floor a 10 foot tall (or taller) R2 D2 was being built. Kids of all ages helped to make the big blocks. the newest catalogs the newest club magazines were given out as well as the LEGO CLUB JR edition! the store calendar was given and a duplo brick imprinted with the R2 D2 on it and 4 3x8 blue (or white) bricks with the 100th Store Banner printed across all 4 were given out! there were games and contests and everyone had fun! I think if you visit it look for Erik or Daniel you will get top notch service! They are gentlemen! I was glad to see Rich and Mark from my neighborhood store (The Queens Center Mall) there as well Rich helped to build the R2 D2, Mark manned the table! Then Carlos and John from ROCKEFELLER CENTER were there as well. Carlos was the host and John helped with customer service, you can spot carlos with the magazines and John with his big smile. And of course I was there and got the all coveted LEGO STORE MODEL!!! Even though I got home late I had to build it!!! (I did say: "KIDS OF ALL AGES" even this 63 year old kid! And it only cost me $2.50 rt on the Subway to get to GRAND CENTRAL, $11.00 rt on METRO NORTH (to the WHITE PLAINS STATION) and $2.50 rt on the BEE LINE BUS to get to the mall! (I get a disabled rate. Double all the above to find out what the regular fare is!) So now I have Palisades, Westchester, Queens Mall, Rockefeller Center and the Roosevelt Shopping Center's LEGO STORES and in YONKERS Legoland Discovery Center!!! .
