Bio-Cup 2013 Round Two: The Living Fortress: Tempest . The Living Fortress: Tempest. A storm is coming. . Story After spending a total of three days searching for his own purpose in life, Guardian returns home to better spend his time. Watching Super-Robot anime, he wishes for such a power. He looks for his father in his workshop, and stubmles upon his father's pet project. Inspired, he dawns the suit, and becomes the pinnacle of circumstance! So, the purpose of me entering the Bio-Cup was to give me a motivation to build tempest. To build I giant mecha is something I have waited to do for years, and could never pull it off. My first attempt, was two years ago, a 4-foot tall, lanky version. Pics below. I got half way done with it, and lost the will to complete it. Besides, it could't stay up on it's own, and needed a stand. I was assuming a mecha theme would come in the later rounds. That was the purpose of making Guardian, so he can easily fit in with Tempest. To my surprise, it was actually the second round, and I SCRAMBLED. I probably showed my full hand this early, and have no clue where things are going now (really hoping it isn't a Pacific Rim theme to the whole contest). Regardless, this is a grail for me, he may be a bit fragile, and cannot use half his joints, but he is menacing as all YEAH. Very happy about how it turned out. I am a tad worried that this does not fit the requirements for a "Suit-Up" theme, but whether I make it to the next round or not, I still got what I wanted, this. Best of luck to the others!
