Arsenic Aldlace . This is what my entry to the EBC was going to be, but he is too small. So my real entry will be coming soon. . Species: Silver Jawed Aldlace(Asa dorsalyz) Area of Origin: Bokora Forests Average life-span: 120-140,000 years *Great Being Modification Applied* History: Originating from a forest east of the Jungle Tribe, just bordering the water's edge, these creatures were first discovered by an Agori over two-thousand years before the Core War. A fisherman of the Jungle Tribe, he encountered this Rahi while it was laying down on the beach. It did nothing but follow him with it's eyes. While this Agori was fishing, he brought in a large fish on the line. He couldn't hold it, and it fell into the water. The next thing he knew, the Aldlace on the beach crawled onto his boat and plopped the fish on the deck. The fisherman brought it home with him and made it his companion. Over time, many Agori from his village and outside of it witnessed the Aldlace and it's traits. The species became well-known, and in a short time became a very popular house-pet. It was discovered that when threatened, these creatures will expel a potent chemical element known as Arsenic in a gaseous form. When expelled, it is carefully blended with bodily fluids to create a fatal spray. It is this attribute that nurtured the Aldlace's nature; calm, easy-going, and fun-loving. It has learned that it can interact with anyone or anything it wants, and that if whatever it interacts with poses a danger, it can spray it's Arsenic juices and either run away or finish it off, usually sticking with the first option. The sack-like organ that creates and contains this solution is stored inside a thick and solid metal shell(post modification). After an Aldlace dies, the shell will fall off within hours of it's death. Aldlace's are fiercely loyal to their owners and their families. They will even bury their own dead and plant their shell in the ground above it. Some have followed after this example, using the shell as a gravestone or keeping it for memorabilia. Laughter is a great stimulant to an Aldlace's brain, thus explaining their ridiculous behavior. A great party trick they have found is to fall over onto their beetle-like back and pretend they can't get up. Larger Aldlace have the strength to carry an Agori or Matoran on their back. Some even cart around sleds and wagons with loads. A short time before the Core War, Glatorian began to train these Rahi to compete in a newly made competitive sport. It was gaining popularity, and the Aldlace's enjoyed it. However, it died soon after the discovery of energized protodermis and the beginning of the Core War. Aldlace were trained to be search and rescue Rahi, carrying the injured back to camp. Few instances of an Aldlace carrying an enemy back to camp were recorded, though it was known to happen. Once the Shattering occured, most Aldlace on Bara-Magna died, leaving only small pockets of survivors across the planet. However, on Bota-Magna, their numbers thrived and multiplied. Some Agori on the planet re-adopted them as pets, while most were let be. Over one-hundred-thousand years, the species has slightly diversified, the feral and non-domestic creatures becoming more competitive and hostile, while the Domesticated became more docile and lazy. After the Re-formation, the feral Aldlaces spread out across the planet's forests, and have taken permanent residence, while the domestic Aldlaces have become majorly popular again, especially with the Matoran. Creator's Comments: *Large breath intake, then BLOOOOOWWWW....* Whoo, that took a while to write. Rarely do I get on the computer to post with a story already in mind, I usually just wing it. But this fellow, I thought quite a bit about. I thought it would be cool to have a Spherus Magnan house pet. It actually look kind of cute to me, at least at most angles(especially the cover photo). The build itself took me a few hours to get down, not so much for the figuring out the design but the part finding portion. But all the same, I am very satisfied with the results. Comment and critique please! And whoever gets the whole "Arsenic Aldlace", then you get a cookie!
