R-1 Jehu . A fast, maneuverable scout speeder for the New Confederate Army. . The R-1 Jehu was designed to be a small, maneuverable recconnoiscence vehicle for the Confederate military during its Brazilian campaigns. Conventional vehicles bogged down in the swamps and jungles, so the Confederacy decided to use the mostly theoretical technology of electromagnetic levitation to let their new scout aircraft hover. The system worked flawlessly ,and gave Confederate troops the advantage needed to annex Central America. After the war, electromagnetic levitation, or EL, systems began to trickle down into other vehicles, and in 1958, the Cadillac Jetstreaker came out, the first civilian vehicle to hover. Since then, EL has become widespread, and is today a feature in most vehicles. The curved beams are intended to be the wake made by the R-1 as it flies through the swamp. I can't decide if that was a good idea or not. The rear is only blurry because it's flying so fast. How dare you say it's because I'm a bad photographer? The R-1 parked. The pilot with his craft. The novel experience of flying an antigravity crat initially attracted hundreds of recruits to Army bases across the south, so the best pilots were assigned to the R-1. The vehicle's unreal acceleration and the pilots' frequent daredevil flying gave the R-1 a reputation for extreme speed.
