MocOlympics Round 2: Luc Johannesen vs. Ben Merrill - A Splash of Color . Ben Merrill vs Luc Johannesen - Elementum. These days there are boat-loads of LEGO colors, but a decade ago the pallet was rather sparse. Create an entry using only the fundamental colors red, yellow, blue, black, and white. It can be any creation/genre you wish but it must ONLY contain those colors. . The MocOlympics! My opponent, Ben Merrill! ---- After seeing how broad this category could be, I knew that a normal MOC, simply colored, would not catch the judge's eye. So, I went for a more artistic approach (not one of my strengths) and went for a MOC that uses the colors as what makes the creation, instead of, say, a red & black spaceship. So here we go right into the MOC. In the first photo, you see The Color Man, who brought fun and joy into our darkened world. He wields the Staff of Color (go figure), which grants him the power to bring light to the darkest of places. Anyways, the photo above shows the bottom of the cloud the Color Man is riding, with rays of the four colors streaming down. Here you see the second level of the MOC, with the color streams twisting and splashing over the edge of the platform. Also, here's the first Man of Color, one of the converted Darkens. You'll see what I mean. Here is the first of the Halfways, those who are in between the Dark and Light. This one happens to have two colors spilling over it. And please note, it's not a girl. It simply has red flowing over her head. Get it? Here we see the second Man of Color and the second Halfway, helping each other reach the Light. The White has flowed completely over the second Man of Color, and is starting to flow onto the second Halfway. Teamwork! The third Halfway. This one has chosen The Blue. Crazy thing just stuck his face into the stream, couldn't wait :P And now, the horribly lit, slightly dusty, Dark. It's a place of nasty things just bubbling and being evil and slimy. Next couple of pictures, i'd like to call your attention to the contorted black bodies in there. Favorite part of my creation - the Darken dragging his only half-formed, dripping body up towards The Light. Nasty 3: And a closing photo of the entire MOC from above (sorry for the washed out cloud, trust me it looks like a cloud :P). Overall height - 21 inches, nearly 67 studs :O Hope you enjoyed, thanks Judges for your time, and the best of luck to everyone still in the running, especially my opponent Mr. Merrill! ----
