MN-413 Planetary Defender . The Planetary Defender is a staple of Monotron's fleet. Inspired by the legendary LL-924, the MN-413 is a generic space craft designed to transport equipment and goods, or to fend off pirates. The massive engines allow for high speeds, and are equipped with air intakes to boost atmospheric speed. The vertical fins give the Defender astonishing maneuverability; making for a fantastic ship. . Introducing Monotron! Symbolized by vehicles with Dark Red and Sand Blue, the adventures pilots established the faction after the fall of Unitron. The MN-413 was one of the first craft. Monotron's mission is to explore and find new minerals and ways to use them. The larger than necessary engines allow for the high speeds the ship can achieve. The cones funnel air into the engines, letting the ship go faster for less fuel. The model can, in fact, balance on the engines, but the landing gear made it look so much better. Here is the cargo bay, where a robot and computer can be stored; however many Defenders carry other things. This particular robot model folds up to fit in the ship. The computer is specifically designed for the robot to use. The first alternate: a Surveillance Platform with a detachable skiff. The magno-locks hold the skiff in place The locks lift up for release and help maneuver. The second alternate: a speedy recon flyer and communication outpost. The air scoops allow for the insane speed of the craft. Weighing in at an even 100 pieces, this is the most fun I have ever had building LEGOs. I had wanted to create my own Space faction, and this contest was the right push to do that. Thanks to the Davids for making the contest happen again; I loved the first one, and this one is absolutely fantastic.
