LOM TT Intro: Call of Defiance . . The Tourney 2014. My chosen Brackets, in order of preference: 1. Wrestling 2. Meelee 3. Heraldry 4. Foot Combat My Guild is The Hand of Defiance!!! I was in Carthal. I stood on the balcony of a stone house, watching the opening parade for the Tournament. I wasn't in the parade though... Not yet. I had spent the last two weeks prowling through the city, looking for candidates for the Guild that I was the founder of, the Hand of Defiance. It had taken a lot of conversational skill, and sometimes I was disappointed, but I had managed to gather a few members. Now I could spot several members in the streets below me. I prepared for what I had planned the whole time, ever since I had learned there would be a parade. I took a special arrow out of my quiver and nocked it... The arrow shot out and exploded over the middle of the street with a loud crack. The parade ground to a halt. Heads started darting, looking for where the loud sound came from. I raised my dagger high into the air, catching the light. "The Hand of Defiance!!!" I shouted. Silence for several seconds. Then a strangely dressed man raised his axe into the air and repeated the shout: "The Hand of Defiance!" Silence again. Two more contestants, dressed in lion skins, also called: "The Hand of Defiance!" The Lion Brothers. Another took up the call. She was known as the Mummy of the Black Axe. "The Hand of Defiance!" A man in a turban started swinging his flail. "The Hand of Defiance!" Soon the calls turned into a chant. It was a thin chant, but a chant nonetheless. Even a few spectators, confused at what was happening, joined in. It took several minutes until the chant died down. People still looked confused, not knowing what had happened. I decided they hadn't seen enough of my Guild yet. In a random flash of confidence, I vaulted off of the balcony, flipping through the air. The people standing where I would land hastily moved aside. I landed crouched down, throwing dust and pebbles into the air. I was a little shaken, but OK. I stood up. A whisper went through the crowd. "Qinon" a man spoke. "The Lost Ranger" a child whispered. I pretended not to hear, but inside, I was grinning. I had a reputation. I didn't care whether it was good or bad. Slowly, the procession started moving again, this time with me in it. The event was a success. I hadn't told fellow guild members that I would be doing what I had done, but it had worked: The story of the event would spread quickly through Carthal. In a few days, many would know of the Hand of Defiance... *** Now for some more shots... The lower house-front of the stone house. I'm not too proud of this, but the lower level turned out pretty good. The in-set lower wall I borrowed from Gilbert... My awesome cobblestone technique. It is very part-eating, but the best I could muster... Some work with texture, similar to what Caleb did in some of his recent builds. I like how it turned out. A wooden house. Noting genius, just a snotted wall. The roof. The rood is the good thing about this otherwise pretty boring house... although it would have looked better tiled. The best of the three houses by far. White mortar with wooden supports, and a dark-red roof. The sticking-out bricks look lovely... this house is awesome. The brown tiles on the sides were originally on the snotted house, but I sacrificed the look of that one for the look of this one... I like them much better here. Another view of the house. I just really like it. The embedded 1x1 rounds give it a more worn feel... And lastly, two of the contestants, and probably my best figbarfs ever. I love them, and I guarantee you that you will see them again... Well, that wraps it up. This build was pretty cool, but it won't be staying together for long. I really invested a lot of time in making all the backgrounds solid white, so please, if you don't like that, tell me, because I don't want to waste so much time on it again if it isn't necessary. Well, I hope you liked it, and see you in the Tourney!!!
