Sundays at Chez Bella . My creation was inspired by The Grand Trunk Pub located in beautiful downtown Detroit. . The Pub is in the building that once housed the ticket office of The Grand Trunk Railroad. The structure dates back to 1879 and was originally the Traub Bros. & Co. Jewelry Store. The Grand Trunk Railroad began using the building as a ticket office in 1910. Legend has it that Harry Houdini had a magic shop in the lower level. The Metropole Hotel turned it in to a bar in 1935 and it has remained a pub ever since. The Grand Trunk Pub is a Michigan Historical Landmark and a truly unique place. Brief history compliments of the Grand Truck's website. Since I did not have the parts to duplicate the building, I created my own version and called it The Chez Bella. What a better way to enjoy casual and fine dining than on a warm Sunday afternoon. Enjoy the view.
