Takathorax . Happy new years eve to you all! Right, now that I've got the festivities out of the way, it's time for me to show you a new MOC; Takathorax, Toa of Light! . “So you strike me as a really serious person, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing; I’d feel safe in your care. You look wise and confident, like a born leader… I respect you, though I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little intimidated by you.” -Dorru to Takathorax, Contenders #13 Takathorax: Takathorax, formally the Toa of Fire Thorax, was a Toa of light and a founding member of both the Toa Racta and the Contenders. He carried a large staff, used to channel his Light powers, and wore a Kanohi Hau, the Mask of Shielding. Takathorax was the most mature Toa on Racta Magna, stern yet reserved, creating a strong impression on others. He was a good tactician and also admired for his battle prowess, but he was also concerned that he focused so much on fighting the enemy that he forgot about the other important factors of being a Toa. Takathorax organising the Contenders, resolving an argument. (Contenders #2) Thorax, a Ta-Matoran living in Racta Major, was transformed into a Toa by Raxonax and invited to become a member of the original Toa Racta. Thorax agreed and eventually became the leader of said team, whilst Raxonax moved down to second in command. They battled Aroxion and the Makuta Sombrak in 'the Days of Shadowed Magna', a short bloody war in which is not well documented. On the last day of the War, Thorax donned a golden Kanohi Hau, which was given to him by an unknown source. This mask transformed him into Takathorax, the Toa of Light, after which he promptly defeated the Sombrak leader, Makuta Aroxion, and ended the war. Wishing time to adapt to his new form, he left the Toa Racta on hiatus. At one point during this, Toa Galia gave him an Ice Elemental Staff, one of six which could destroy a Makuta when combined. Takathorax fighting Aroxion. (Toa Takathorax) He returned to his old team twice: Once to help stop Thanatos from destroying the planet, and a second time to defend Racta Major against the Sombrak. Takathorax gave his Staff to Toa Korapa and accompanied him back to the city, where he joined the battle with the Sombrak at the gates. He and Korapa battled Makuta Zarliz, who Takathorax accidently killed by deflecting a blast from the Makuta with his Kanohi Hau. After discovering that Aroxion had slipped into the city without being noticed, Takathorax followed and helped "Light Aroxion", a defected Makuta, to battle the invader. He was severely damaged and almost killed in this battle, but the Toa Racta intervened by entering the city and blasting Aroxion with the Elemental Staffs. He shielded his allies from a blast from the Makuta and witnessed his death at the hands of “Light Aroxion”. Takathorax entering Racta Major after Aroxion. (Dark Epitaph) After his wounds had healed, Takathorax returned to his wandering. Three years later, he met an old friend of his; a Ko-Matoran named Osiro. However, Osiro was killed by a Rahkshi named Apothrahk, with him unable to prevent it. He decided to wear Osiro's Kanohi Mahiki on his chest to make sure that he was constantly reminded of his failure. Takathorax was invited by Raxonax to join the Contenders, an offer he accepted after he found out that Makuta Reshak, the last surviving Sombrak member, was seeking to resurrect his old leader and father, Aroxion. Takathorax showing Raxonax the body of Osiro (Contenders #1) The group set out to find Makuta Reshak, but soon encountered his servants; Dukrina, Apothrahk and Thisrahk. Takathorax, seeing Apothrahk, went after the Rahkshi to avenge his friends death, but was defeated once Dukrina and Thisrahk came to the creature’s aid. On the way back home, Takathorax, Cilla and Dorru made friends with a being called the Jankori and battled two Dark Hunters, Sohbec and Helda. When they got back, they were attacked by Kunar and the IRM, who had snuck into the city beforehand. This unfortunately turned out to be a ruse as Reshak entered the city and defeated them, Takathorax being the last to fall before Aroxion’s son. In the aftermath, it was Takathorax who encouraged the other Contenders, who were feeling demoralised, to take up arms again and go after Reshak. He, Dorru, Montu, Galia, Clank and Solorak left the city to stop the children of Reshak from taking the Gate and also battled Gostok Gerikigil, who had been resurrected by said item. He returned home to prepare for a final attack from Reshak. While doing this, he had a heartfelt talk with Dorru about his role as a Toa, and how he was more of a ‘fighting machine’ rather than a protector. Takathorax using his light powers against Apothrahk (Contenders #3) During the final battle, Takathorax battled Apothrahk again, defeating the Rahkshi when he was distracted by the death Thisrahk, his fellow Rahkshi. The Toa then drew the attention of Reshak himself and engaged him in battle. Takathorax initially was losing, unable to land a blow and getting hit several times by the Makuta, but turned the tables when he used his Hau to deflect Reshak’s blows onto himself. He watched his enemy return to his followers, who turned on him due to their own agendas. Taking sympathy on the defeated Reshak, Takathorax offered to enter the Gate with him to ‘meet his father.’ Knowing that the experience would kill them both, he reflected that with Reshak’s death his destiny would be completed anyway. Takathorax evading Reshak’s power scream (Contenders #15) Takathorax died upon entering the Gate, his body destroyed and his soul trapped in the afterlife. Here he is! Calm down, that is a custom torso underneath that chest piece. I am also aware that the Kanohi Mahiki on his chest may be a little distracting, but it does have story significance(read the biography). The back. His Light Staff. I love this weapon so much :3 Attached to his back. Compared to Doctor Forgen in his Exotoran. Poor Tyranca... Takathorax vs Reshak! The white gu... Dang it, this was working so well until we got to Black and White! Raxonax, Cilla, Dorru, Montu, Galia, Takathorax. Okay, it's time to spill the beans; I was building something up here. I know, what a suprise, right? Well, after you see six Toa together with these particular colours, you would assume that I was building up to just a Toa team to replace the Toa Racta, right? Well, yes, and no; Yes in that this is the new Toa Team that will replace the Toa Racta. No in that that wasn't what I was going to reveal. This is what I was going to reveal: People, I'd like to introduce you to: That's right! A new story installment from me! This one isn't going to be a film. I'm going back to what I used to do; This is going to be a Fumetti, like Hunt for "God". Now, I can't reveal too much at the moment, but here's a little something. Here are the prototype names for the first fifteen issues. These may change by the time the issues are released, but here is a general idea:
