The Jankori V3 . A rather new but well-appreciated titan from me makes a return, as I've made the third version of The Jankori! . “You think you can resist me? I brought this planet to its knees, slew thousands of Gostoks and even stood up to Thanatos! You are nothing to me; nothing but a twig to be broken!” -The Jankori to Dorru, Contenders #4 The Jankori: The Jankori, an ancient title meaning “Shadow Entity”, was originally an old warlord who devolved into a hulking Rahi. Despite the savagery that his form suggests, the Jankori is a pensive creature, long out of his prime; he has developed a degree of benevolence since retirement, though much of it is masked in grumpiness. He is indifferent to the agendas of the outside world, and he knows very little about many of the universe’s modern species; he does have vague, overarching knowledge of Toa and Matoran, but little outside of that. The full extent of his powers are unknown. The origins of the Jankori, formerly known as the Shadow Entity, are unknown; it is supposed that he might be a Great Being (or at least the close equivalent of one), though this is not backed by any solid evidence. He first came into the world’s attention when he conquered the planet of Racta Major with a horde of shadow creatures, fighting and subduing the warlike Gostoks in the process. The Shadow Entity remained unchallenged as an autocrat, sending out his minions to conquer nearby planets in order to grow his empire. Much time passed; he had mostly phased out of relevancy by the time that the Matoran arrived on the planet, though he was still deeply fascinated by them. He kidnapped one in particular, by the name of Raxonax, to experiment on; this experiment backfired however, as the Matoran was split into three different creatures; Toa Raxonax, Shadonax and Idonax; these creatures escaped, and the Shadow Entity sought to re-capture them. The Shadow Entity managed only to catch Idonax, transporting him to the nearby planet of Mardon, before his task was interrupted. Thanatos, the appointed lord of death, became deeply perturbed with the amount of people this tyrant had killed, deeply upsetting the balance of life. He went after the Shadow Entity, mutating him into a weaker, more bestial form, and imprisoning him in a large, black void. Regretting his crimes and wishing to disassociate from them, the Shadow Entity abandoned his title in favour of the more obscure ‘Jankori’. He remained in his cell for many years, locked behind a large seal. Sometime later, a young Toa named Galia accidentally broke the seal and released the Jankori. The beast’s first reaction was to try and eat the Toa, but she managed to talk her way out of it, befriending the monster and teaching him about the ways of the modern world. He decided against re-conquering the planet, choosing instead to fashion his now-obsolete prison into a home and live there, preferring to watch events from afar with the extra comfort of leaving any time. His peace was disturbed again by the entrance of three more Toa; Dorru, Cilla and Takathorax, who were cast into the void by their enemies, hoping the Jankori would finish them off. The Jankori prepared to do so, but the Toa were saved by Galia, who arrived and convinced the Jankori that they were friends. The beast offered his alliance and sent them on their way, establishing that his help was theirs whenever they needed it. The Toa, known as the Contenders, returned a while later, asking him to come to Racta Major and help defend it from a Makuta named Reshak; the Jankori agreed to do so, noticing that Raxonax was also part of this group; he attempted to speak to Raxonax, but was unable to reveal more than a cryptic clue about his agency in the Toa’s origin. He then helped to fight both Reshak and Thanatos, who had formed an uneasy alliance with the Makuta. The Jankori was defeated, but Thanatos turned on Reshak and stopped him. The Jankori returned to his lair, promising to aid the Contenders in future. His promise was fulfilled quite some time later once he awoke from slumber to discover the Contenders fighting a legion of monsters outside his home. The Jankori begrudgingly joined the fight, turning the tide very quickly with his extreme power and chasing off the monsters. Upon discovering that Raxonax and Idonax had reunited, the Jankori felt a surge of guilt and decided against joining the Contenders again on their travels. He would eventually go to Racta Major sometime later, when a sheet of darkness swallowed the planet and woke him from slumber. He discovered that Shadonax had conquered the city, and his ally Aroxion had cast the darkness. The Jankori spoke to Shadonax, revealing the villain’s origins and convincing him to resurrect Raxonax, who had been killed during the takeover of the city. Later on, he would aid the Contenders in their attempt to take back the city, only to be beaten down by Astrok and her lackeys. The Jankori was not incarcerated, as Astrok figured that humiliation alone would be enough to keep him in line. Thus, he remains a free resident of Racta Major. Here he is! I made the whole thing taller; added some brighter shades of blue and followed some advice on making the forearms more custom and the shins a little more organic. The Back. Oh yeah, and tail! A demonstration of what the glow-in-the-dark stuff looks like, though I personally think that the preview picture was slightly cooler. Despite what'd you think, the thing stands up farily well on that foot design. The thing that's stopping the whole thing from tipping over is the Nuva shoulder piece. It does take a little more effort than normal to stand him up, as you have to make sure these are in the right place, but he's not tipping over all of the time. Just thought I'd tell you that, as this is, in my opinion, the crown jewel of this MOC. Compared to Toa Galia. Not likely suspects to be buddies, but they're a cute duo. Compared to the Rocka Crawler. Heh, I've taken all of my HF sets apart now. R.I.P Hero Factory :,( Jankori vs Migor. All of my Titan MOCs together. Not immensely tall or anything, but still an impressive little group shot. (Raxy and the Crawler aren't titans, of course, I just brought them in for comprasion.) ...SIE SIND DAS ESSEN UND WIR SIND DE JÄGER! AH! AH! AH! AH!... ...ahem... sorry... That's all, folks! Contenders #2 (Grip of the Exotoran) should be coming next friday!
