Animal Crossing House . A house modeled after my virtual house in the Animal Crossing Wild World video game. . I was still actively playing AC:WW when I got a shipment of Legos. I was also putting away the bricks from my pumpkin set around the same time, wondering where the heck I was going to find room for all those new orange roof tiles. Since the roof to my video game house was orange, and many of the bricks I had just received were useful for houses, it seemed a natural challenge to attempt building a model of my game house. It was very challenging for me, since my only way to reference what the house should look like was to look at the tiny 2-D screen on my DS. I had to sort of reverse engineer the 3-D-ness of the house (that some Nintendo designer surely has in a graphic program somewhere) by looking at the game house from various angles and extrapolating what the size and different sides would be, sketching them out on paper. Even with that, alot of the build (especially the roof lines) involved alot of trial and error, like when making a sculpture. By the time I was finished, I was really happy with the results!
