Racer "Radar Love" . My first attempt at a “Cyborg Racer” . The story: Barry Hay was a claims adjustor for a major insurance company. For years his doctor told him he needed to get out and add some excitement to his mundane life. Barry was the kind of guy who didn’t like taking risks or doing anything that involved any sort of danger. He had seen too many accidents and mutilated corpses and knew well the dangers that the reckless speed demons brought upon themselves. Barry was ironically, horribly injured while he was investigating a cyborg racer accident. The racer known as “Souldriven” plowed through his nearly unprotected carcass (space suits don’t hold up well against a racer) while pushing to the finish line. With nothing else left, including most of his body, Barry had his mind melded to machine and in accordance with his doctors wishes, but against his own better judgement, joined the racing circuit. Still weary and skittish about having one of those horrible accidents that he spent years investigating and that had eventually led to his joining this insane sport, Barry had his racer fitted with multiple radar dishes to make sure nothing was able to get too close. His pit crew christened him “Radar Love” as a joke but Barry failed to see the humor in it. Barry has yet to actually win a race. This may be because he never goes more than 35 miles an hour. He does have the distinction however of being the only racer to have never been involved in any sort of collision during his entire career. The other racers call him a wuss but he just blows it off as he drifts slowly across the finish line… without a scratch on him. (fourth wall commentary) I hope you enjoyed my first attempt at an Ocean inspired Cyborg Racer. I was driving home from work and Radar Love came on the radio and I though “What a perfect song title for a Racer!” Space travel, radar dishes… just make him a paranoid wuss and it all fits nicely. I couldn’t believe no one had done it before! Until next time take care true believers! Later ~ Chris. Addition: You know Lee, I always ask that of all my prey. I just like the sound of it...
