Thresher and Sledge . A monstrous take on the Lasher+double Sentinel. . I know, I'm beating the dropship-and-mech theme to death. I also know I'm holding on too tightly to those pretty rotors from the Lasher. I'll get over it soon, just give me time. There are a few new trends and themes for me in this dynamic duo; near-studlessness, creative anatomy, stricter-than-ever color scheme, neat cockpits, and extensive use of gears for both function and pretty greebling. The Sledge. Armaments: Twin pulse lasers Twin drum-fed machine guns Rail cannon impaler claws Right side, Showing Rail cannon and one of the machine guns. The Upskirt. Note the calf thrusters, and heavy kinetic impellers mounted on the hips and back. You can also see the claws tucked neatly into the heels. Action pose super go-go! Number one in Japan! With all thrusters fully deployed, the Sledge can perform extended hover-jumps and some aerial maneuvers. No true flight for this one, just about fifteen seconds of airtime. While hovering, the impaler claws can be used to pluck foes from the ground and toss them about. Dig the 2-piece cockpit swinging open. The Thresher, parked. MONKEY! Plugged in and ready to seal up. Aye, there's a control for all four hands. No, it doesn't make sense when he's presumably jacked right into the ship... but who cares? Cockpit sealed. Doubling up the gears on the turrets gave just enough resistance for them to stay put at any angle. And looks neat! Ready for liftoff. Armament: Twin Autocannons Twin anti-personelle lasers 12 heavy missiles Detail of the primary and secondary thrusters. Secondary thrusters from above. The secondaries only have vertical mobility. Again, extra gears give resistance to the hinges, so they stay where posed. Racks at the tip of each rotor hold the missile payload. The thrusters have a wide range of movement... ...providing exceptional maneuverability. Airborne. Its job done, the Sledge calls for pickup. Just imagine that's it hovering overhead, not nearly falling off of my shrouded chair. Assume the position! As it approaches, the Thresher lowers its stability boom. Connection! The pegs below the Thresher hook through the loops on the Sledge's shoulders. With the boom down, the two can stand on their own. And they're off!
