Gas Car . Built in April 2003, a 6 cylinder gas tank car. . For the longest time I resisted building a "gas" car cause they never looked right to me. Then I spotted a nice one in a model RR magazine recently and decided to model it. It's rather simple in that all it is made from is a flatbed and six long 2x2 tanks with dome ends.  To secure the tanks there are two set of two 2x2-2x2 brackets 4 bricks inset from each end. Each set of brackets holds a 4x6 + 4x4 white plate sandwich vertically, both with studs facing outward such that the tank ends can be capped with the domes. The black bracing is made with eight 1x2x2 airplane windows and the top cross members are 2x6 Technic plates, all allowing the eye to see through to the tanks. Although the bracing has no structural importance it does nicely mask the white vertical plates.
