4-cylinder pneumatic engine . 4-cylinder pneumatic engine. Smoother running than previous attempts and more compact. . I would have made my last engine a 4-cylinder one but I didn't have enough pneumatic t-pieces, but having acquired some more, I was able to build this. It is much more compact than the 3-cylinder version, due to the fact that it doesn't require the axle to be rotated 120 degrees between each cylinder and it only requires two valves (excluding the pressure relief valve on top, which is unnecessary really, but pretty useful to relieve the tension that the pieces are under). The extra cylinder allows it to run more smoothly than the previous one. Video link: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1192786 (avi format)
