"Big Beautiful Doll" republic gunship of the 78th . Most of the modifications are copied from or inspired by ,mikepsiaki,(brickshelf) and his beautiful custom built rgs. . So I've been making custom nose decals for some time now, and I have always liked the republic gunship. So after getting 7676 I looked at it and found it seemed to be missing something(or many somethings) so I began a major renovation of 7676. The things I have changed are as follows: (again I emphasize that most changes are copied or dirctly inspired by mikepsiaki) Completely redid the wings. New missile tubes. Missile rack also connects directly to the missile tubes. Cargo doors open straight back, and retract like the gunships from the republic commando videogame. Added all the turrets. Back ramp improved. Speeder rack removed and tile plates replaced with normal one to allow for more troops. The section behind the pilots has been beefed up. The obvious changes in color and the custom decal made to resemble "Big Beautiful Doll" flown by Col. John Landers 78th fighter group during WWII (hence the reason why this gunship belongs to the 78th) You can see the turret and decal here is the new door. for those who haven't played republic commando, which is a very good game by the way, the front section of the door would slide back... and after that the rest of the door would open like normal. The added cargo net, and the plain, but more functional troop bay. The flick fire missiles are now stationary, and lead straight into the barrel. I didn't steal the exhaust section of the barrel. That was made by stuffing tires into the half cylinder piece. I decided to leave the red panel on the wings, it doesn't bother me that it is there, and it isn't worth reprinting a black one. I am also very pleased with the wing turret The ramp is a very simple fix for a much better looking gunship. And finally the classic 3/4 view. I will continue to improve this, replace the command center module etc. but for now I am highly satisfied. All the same let me hear your thoughts.
