RC Skip Tipper Truck . This MOC is a infrared controlled "Skip Tipper Truck" made of set 8285 . This MOC is a infrared controlled "Skip Tipper Truck". It can load and deload a container and also tumble it. It is made of the LEGO 8285 except from the 2 large PF-motors, 2 small PF-motors, 2 IR-receivers, a battery box and a container which is made from a 16x32 baseplate and a lot of bricks. First: The chassis. I took the chassis of the normal model and shorten it with the length of 13 studs. Then I built the buffer and cabin of the B-model and fixed it together. I removed all the bodywork, and also the pneumatic cylinder. If you have removed the pneumatic cylinder you have removed enough bodywork. Next: The steering system. I have replaced the hand of God steering by motorical steering. It wasn't very hard so I finished quite early with this section. Then: The driving train. I used a large PF-motor for the driving, because this MOC is very heavy and the motor had to have enough strenght. I put a toothgear with 12 teeth on the differential and another toothgear with 12 teeth in the length direction of the truck. The motor was fixed immediately on that gear. Just one pair is This part also didn't took long, but a bit longer than de steering system. Pushbar: Then: The tip/skip problem. I have tried many solutions, also with pneumatic, but all it wasn't strong enough. I used a small PF-motor for the tip/skip problem and a worm to get it stronger. After a long time I finally managed. I used one and the same motor for both the tipping and the skipping. I used a toothgear with 8 teeth and some toothed bars for erecting the pushbar. The pushbar is connected to the hook. The hook and joists are two separate parts. The hook only can turn around the joists. Switchmotor: Another large PF-motor is used to switch two axels. If a first axle is connected to a frame (which is connected to the chassis), just the hook will turn and a container can be loaded. If this axle isn't connected to the frame, another axle connect the joists and hook so the whole thing will tip and the container will be poured empty. Holder with the 2 axles: This part took the most time. Then: The battery box and IR-receivers. The IR-receivers are put on both sides of the truck. The battery box is put in the back of the truck. This wasn't hard at all. Battery box: IR-receivers: Last: The new bodywork. Large plates are on the sides of the truck to cover the inside. There are also two air pressure barrels which where attached on the old model. I made twice as short as they were before. This part was a little bit puzzling but also it didn't took much time.
